With Netflix’s series “Stranger Things” coming to a close with Season 5, many are mourning the end of such a beloved franchise. For years, viewers have followed the group of ’80s teens fighting monsters in a different dimension. Having been around for 10 years, the show has easily become one of the biggest pieces of pop culture from this generation. Each season has its own unique aesthetic and plots that make it almost impossible to pick a favorite.
Those who grew up watching the show have seen the evolution of each season. As reported by moneycontrol.com, the budget for Season 1 was around $48 million, yet producers reportedly budgeted between $400-480 million for Season 5. With each season, the possibilities got bigger and bigger.
“My favorite season was Season 3,” senior Skylar Shockley said, “because I really liked the storyline with one of the characters, Max, and her family. The season was well shot for the time it was set in, and the Russia storyline was funny.”
Season 3 is by far one of the fan favorites. The summer setting and new character introductions make it a strong component of the show.
“I love the first season,” freshman Ember Huffman said. “It set the tone for the show and is a classic.”
Even though the show has ended, people’s love for it has not. No matter your opinion, it is safe to say that “Stranger Things” is one of the biggest shows of the decade. Its message about friendship and unity, as well as its amazing storylines, will stick with people for years to come.
