Prom: A magical time that marks the end of school while offering a glimpse of summer. Prom is a very exciting time for young boys and for girls, who especially enjoy everything from dresses and flowers to makeup and hair. Prom is full of fun teenage memories and stories to tell in the future!
The Spartan prom is always hosted at the Greenbrier Resort. This year’s theme was “Tiffany and Co,” a very elegant theme! On May 9, prom started at 7 p.m. and ended at 10 p.m. There were many beautiful dresses and flowers, and, of course, hair. Many feel that the pictures that go with prom are the best, and Instagram dings constantly as students hurry to post their flawless pictures.
“I rate the prom a 6/10” senior Shawnti Winston said. “I thought it was better than last year but they need to get a better DJ.” Winston loved her dress and it took her three whole hours to get ready.
Junior Mollie Persinger rated prom an 8/10. Persinger said,”It was not fun because the DJ was not taking suggestions and not skipping songs.” But Persinger loved her dress very much! It took her two and a half hours to fully get glammed up.
Sophomore Abigail Ewing rated her first prom an 8/10 even though she called the experience “mediocre.” Ewing also thought the music was subpar and there were “no good snacks and the fruit was old.” Ewing loved her dress very much and it took her two hours to fully get dolled up!
Last, but not least, is sophomore Raelyn Snedegar. She rated prom a 6/7, no pun intended. “I think it’s fun and was fun, but the music needs to be better.” It took her two whole hours to get ready.
Spartans may have enjoyed their prom, but clearly not its music. Whoever hires the DJ needs to step up their game to fully satisfy these Spartans for Prom 2027!
