At the beginning of the year every student at Greenbrier East High School receives a list of clubs and they get to pick which one they want to sign up for. There are over 15 clubs to choose from.
Club Day gives students something to look forward to. The different club categories consist of sports, physical activity, studying faith, planning prom, playing games, and watching movies. A student can also choose to get help from a teacher or just catch up on work during study hall. There are so many different options.
Counselor Mike Vincent says, “You will find something you like because we offer so many options.”
Club Day is once a month, usually at the beginning of the month, during the EAST period. Sophomore Samiya Semple is on the prom committee. “My favorite part of my club is getting to know what prom looks like before everyone else,” Semple said. “I like to be able to decorate. It really will get me excited.”
Clubs give students the opportunity to be involved with something in the school besides academics.
