School is a place of learning, and gaining an education is a very important time in a student’s life. High school, especially, is time for friends, learning, and seeing what this world offers.
School Is a Community
Because a school is a community of people, it is very important that students do their best to support and take care of it. For example, a simple way to express community is to ask if someone you see struggling needs help with homework, directions to a classroom, opening their locker, or any other task. Just imagine how much you would appreciate a helping hand if you were in a similar situation. Overall, cultivate an atmosphere of kindness and understanding, because you never know what another person is going through.
School Needs to Be a Clean Place, Too
Yes, custodians keep a school clean, but each person should also clean up after any mess they make. Doing so is a big help and not that hard to do.
Help With Volunteer Work
For example, if your school has a tutoring program, enlist and help if you feel capable. Volunteering for fundraisers is a way to help your school meet its financial goals. Another way to help is by donating supplies to teachers if they need extra items like tissues or pencils. Gather items other students might need. For instance, you might donate deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, and other personal items to your school or community. Remember that a little can go a long way, and that a small difference will make a huge impact.
Schools are supportive places, so let’s try to do our best to make that support go both ways.
