The annual Dandelion Festival is coming up soon! According to greenbrierwv.com, the festival is on May 22nd through May 24th. It is located in White Sulphur Springs and is a fun way to enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, with a wide variety of events, activities, food, vendors, and more! My friends and I have so much fun walking around all day looking at the town, then ending the day with beautiful fireworks.
The Dandelion Festival is a fun way to connect people in our community and learn about our town’s culture. According to mountainmessanger.com, the festival’s name was chosen to pay tribute to the dandelions that grow in abundance here, symbolizing “determination and strength.”
“My favorite part about the Dandelion Festival is the delicious Dippin’ Dots that they sell each year,” said junior Lane Jackson.

“My favorite part of the Dandelion Festival would definitely have to be the fishing derby and all the delicious food,” junior, Marley White said.
If you plan on expanding your experience in White Sulphur Springs, you could also explore the Greenbrier Resort and play some golf during festival weekend. The town offers other activities, too. You could take an adventurous hike on the Greenbrier River Trail, or grab a bite on the School House Hotel’s rooftop, as shared by westvirginiatourism.org.
“I feel the reason why so many people attend the festival each year is because of the factors of tradition, new people, and, overall, the fun aspects,” Jackson said.
White said, “I think people continue to attend the festival because it has been a community tradition and overall exciting experience for all involved.”
The Dandelion Festival connects the community in a special way. If you haven’t visited the festival yet, I highly recommend you attend so you can join our beautiful town.
