On April 24-26th, the Greenbrier East Choral Department performed a musical called “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” The production features seven main characters, including Sally Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, a rabbit, Schroeder, Linus, and (obviously) Charlie Brown.

Many talented student actors and musicians were able to show their talents each night.

Ella Butler, junior, played Sally Brown in the musical.

“The turnout was great. The middle schoolers loved it, also,” Butler said. “It was so fun!”

Micah DeRouen, junior, played the main role of Charlie Brown.

“I loved how when something happened to my character, the whole audience would react,” DeRouen said.

Lastly, Ryan Lemon, junior, played the drums (percussionist) in the musical.

“It’s a very unique opportunity that not many people get to do until college,” Lemon said.

Each of these musicians and actors, along with their equally talented orchestra and castmates, made the musical special for all of the viewers. There will be new musicals coming next fall and spring, hopefully!
