As the holiday season approaches, many people are faced with a decorating dilemma: Embrace an elegant, serene Christmas or dive into a maximalist explosion of festive cheer?
Christmas decorations are a big part of Christmas cheer, but how much is too much? It is interesting to see how many Spartans are looking forward to making their home a winter wonderland.
Assistant Principle Joey Hodge is just one of many. “My house has Christmas thrown up all over it,” Hodge said.
There seems to be a pattern of Spartans who love colorful decorations and Christmas lights, such as sophomores Mollie Persinger and Jillian Styles.
“I like the really colorful Christmas decorations, the ones that remind you of your childhood,” Persinger said.
Styles also loves bright decorations. “We have a bunch of different colorful ornaments with one big tree and a bunch of small trees,” she said.
Though most Spartans prefer over-the-top colors and lights, 10th grade counselor Mike Vincent likes some moderation.
“I don’t like over the top, like last year I had two Christmas trees and lots of lights but nothing over the top,” Vincent said.
Spartans definitely love the joy and memories the Christmas season brings, and most prefer a maximalist explosion in their homes!
