This Year’s Band Theme

Every year, the school band has a theme that Mr. Allder chooses, and this year it is “Crossroads”: An unfortunate person wants a better life, so he finds a crossroads and makes a deal with the devil. This deal consists of a better life for the man in trade for his soul to the devil. After living the life he always wanted, the man soon realizes that it really isn’t that great, and that the life he had before was much better. He goes back to the crossroads to meet the devil, asking for his life back, but the devil refuses. The man then fights the devil, winning and earning his soul and life back.

Every game is a practice opportunity, too. Hamilton says the best way for him to calm his nerves is to take deep breaths and tell himself he can do it.
