Throughout the week of homecoming I stopped students in the hallways and asked them to let me take a picture of them. Students even sent me pictures of people they thought deserved to be recognized. Enjoy the gallery of photos!

The homecoming theme days were as follows:

Monday: Meme/Character Day

Tuesday: Staycay/Vaycay Day

Wednesday: Western Wednesday Day

Thursday: Throwback Day

Friday: Green and Gold Day (also Powder Puff)

Powder Puff is an annual game that Greenbrier East girls play to be involved during homecoming week. It is basically flag football with a twist: that the coaches are some of our current football players. This year the senior girls were coached by Peyton Pack, Marion Lawson, Kyle King, Houston Scott, Brandon Honaker, Chris Hulmes and Hunter Ridgeway. Nate Baker and Tucker Via coached the juniors. Another Powerpuff twist is that the cheerleading squad is made up of boys. This years lovelies were Wiley Byers, Austin Boone, Cooper Woods, Tyler Young, Teeshawn McCoy, Josh Hardiman, Jesse Walkup, Dylan Gunter, Dylan Long, Owen Quinn, Waymon Browning, Tyler Judy, and Michael Perkins, Cole Burns, Hunter Vaughn, Chase Zobrist, Trinity Mines, Case Hall, Ian Seal, Kain Fleshman, Charlie Hanna, Jordan Mize, Sam Aultz, and Zach Ellis.

Each year to conclude the homecoming week we have a parade for the community. Participants walk from the East student parking, past the front of the hospital, up the hill to the middle school, then back to the high school front circle. Marchers throw out candy to the people who show up to support our fellow Spartans.

Oh, and by the way, our football team spanked the Oak Hill Red Devils 42-7. Congratulations, Spartans!
