Have you been in a car wreck before? Well, these fellow students, graduates, and teachers have, and here are their stories.
English teacher Mindy Smith was driving home on a dark night when an intoxicated female rear-ended her car. Smith was pulling into her driveway after a long day. The female took off running on foot, and later the police found many different types of pills in her vehicle.
Senior Kaylee Callison was pulling out of Taco Bell on a random Wednesday when an F-150 rear-ended her. Kaylee admits it was her fault because she was on her phone instead of seeing that she could pull out.
Junior Conner Feury was driving on the interstate with his family when another driving the wrong way came into their lane, hit the Feurys’ car head-on, spun four times and hit the car behind them.
Math teacher William Ward has a similar story to Conner’s. Ward was driving in Charleston while it was raining. The car in front of him wobbled, spun out of control, ended up in the wrong lane, & hit Ward head-on. Ward was driving a minivan which prevented injuries. Fun fact: when the ambulance finally arrived the female passenger of the other car put the neck collar on herself and climbed onto the stretcher.
Graduate Brennon Tincher was driving home from work and thought he’d take the scenic route across the mountain. “While I was at work it was a beautiful day,” he said. But when he got down the road and went across the mountain “there was a big oil spot and it had started dumping the rain.” He took the turn a little too fast and barrel-rolled his truck six times and got knocked out.
A car wreck is a scary thing that no one thinks is going to happen to them until it does. It is important to be cautious and aware while driving–and even riding in the passenger seat since you may see something the driver doesn’t. Be safe on the road and don’t get cocky!
