Acne is very common during a person’s teenage years. You might wonder what you can do to help prevent and clear up your acne, and I am here to help with a few tips for clearing up your acne-prone skin.

  1. Choose a cleanser specially formulated for your acne.  Most of these products contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which helps clear sores.
  2. Clean your face gently with your hands (scrubbing materials can cause pimples to rupture), because being rough with your face when you have a breakout can in fact worsen acne.
  3. If you have dry skin and need a moisturizer, light and oil-free moisturizers are highly recommended so the moisturizer does not aggravate your acne.
  4. When using makeup, try to use an oil free foundation because heavy makeup can clog your pores and cause flare-ups.
  5. NEVER PICK YOUR ACNE!

As satisfying or stress relieving as you might find picking at your acne, it is not helping anything AT ALL.  You are not Dr. Pimple Popper! Go get a degree and then you can start popping as many pimples as you want for satisfaction. Picking at your acne is not letting it heal or clear up in any way, shape, or form. You can cause scarring, which can definitely become PERMANENT DAMAGE!  Why do that to your beautiful face? Your face is the first thing anyone sees when coming into contact with you. The next time you look in the mirror and are tempted to pop a pimple or pick at your face, remember the words “PERMANENT DAMAGE”!
