Mental Health Days
November 12, 2019
School can be very stressful for some students. All the homework and tests are a lot of work and sometimes it’s too much for some people. That’s where the idea of a mental health day comes in. You would be able to miss a day if you are feeling overwhelmed, and it would be considered excused.
This is an awesome idea, but there are some students who would claim a mental health day when they really just wanted to skip. Were too many students to take advantage of the opportunity without cause, attendance would dramatically decrease, which would ruin things for those using the excused absence legitimately.
I can see both sides of the argument. I think that students do need a break from school when it gets too much, but I also think it would be a bad idea because a bunch of people would take advantage of it.
