Have you ever eaten school lunch before? If so, you know that there are very good meals and some not-so-great meals.
School lunches have been heavily debated for years, but now a few students and teachers at Greenbrier East have agreed to weigh in on their top three favorite lunches at school.
“My number one would have to be pepperoni roll,” Sophomore Emily Hudson said, “but walking taco is a close second.” Hudson ranked chicken nuggets as number three.
After careful concentration and critical thinking, Spanish teacher Scott Vogelsong chose four top lunches.
“I couldn’t only choose three, so my number four is hotdog with tater tots,” he said.
Vogelsong’s other meals ranked as follows. Number three: breakfast; number two: salisbury steak; and number one: Thanksgiving meal.
Next up was sophomore Calla Fauber. “I don’t eat many school lunches,” she said, “but if I had to choose, I’d say number three is salisbury steak for the roll and mashed potatoes. Number two is definitely cheese pizza.” Fauber’s number one is chicken nuggets, primarily for the roll and mashed potatoes.
After taking a good look at October’s lunch calendar, Principal David Vincent decided on his top three.
“Three is definitely hamburger, and two has to be the baked chicken, especially with scalloped potatoes. One is pepperoni roll, obviously,” Vincent concluded.
Students and faculty have their own personal opinions on which lunches are the best. It seems that there is a common theme, though. There is no doubt about it, pepperoni roll is a fan favorite school lunch!
