“Outer Banks” is a nationally loved TV show on Netflix. It consists of 4 seasons, including the new 4th season which came out in two parts on Oct. 10 and Nov. 7. Season 4 has caused a lot of controversy. The creators of the story of “Outer Banks” went about this season differently than the others, with some main characters dead and others pregnant. Many watchers, including freshman Grace Withrow, say that this season is unnecessary and that the producers should have stopped after season 3. “The treasure hunt for the crown was so annoying,” she said. “I could tell they were trying to drag it on.”
Many are left heartbroken and even say Season 4 changed their views on the series as a whole. “I feel crushed!” sophomore Noelle McClintic said. “I love ‘Outer Banks,’ but the new season wasn’t my favorite.”
Season 4 of “Outer Banks” hits senior Parker Hill differently. “Of course I want another season,” Hill said. “It’s so addicting.”
With two of the main characters having a new baby on the way, their outlook on their dangerous adventures has changed. “I like how John B steps up with the [severity] of becoming a father,” McClintic said. “It changed the way he thought in situations.”
JJ’s death was unexpected and his biological father being the culprit was an even bigger shock. Many fans believe that JJ may come back to life as other characters have before. “Outer Banks” will never be the same without JJ Maybank. He brings soul to the show that no one can replace.
