Manic Espresso, founded and owned by Rachel Warner, is a local coffee shop located in the West Virginia State Fair free parking lot. Since it first opened in August 2021, many individuals in Lewisburg and the surrounding area enjoy this dainty shop and all its wonderful drinks and foods.
However, people have different perspectives on the fact that Manic is a drive-thru rather than your usual walk-in cafe.
“I really like the location,” freshman cheerleader Grace Withrow said. “I think it’s convenient for the early practice and school mornings.”
Junior Ava George has a different perspective. “I do wish they had a bigger place and maybe be able to sit down,” she said, “but overall it’s a 10/10 for me.”
This local java hut has a wide variety of drinks to select from. Presley Baker, a senior, said, “I love the selections and availability of their drink menu.”
Manic, which has expanded to a second location in Covington, VA, likes to keep it interesting with a large menu of seasonal drinks for the changing holidays and seasons. And besides coffee, Warner serves smoothies, energy drinks, and boba, as well as pepperoni rolls, chicken salad croissants, bagels, chocolate covered espresso beans, breakfast sandwiches, and a banana chocolate loaf cake. Some might even say that Manic offers more variety than Starbucks. Although Starbucks is a widely loved coffee shop, sometimes supporting local is the way to go.
