When we’re talking holidays, Christmas comes first in many hearts. It’s hard to beat spending time with family, eating good food, and (most importantly) receiving gifts! And even though putting together all that happiness and warmth is far from easy, we overcome our stress to let Christmas bring out the good in everyone.
Families celebrate Christmas in many different ways. My family always puts up decorations on Black Friday. Many families also like different decorations. My mother, for example, likes to put up Christmas trees all over the house (seven!) and decorate from the basement to the attic, while I like to focus on the exterior lights that make it easy for people to see our house shine on the mountains.
Senior Ammie Brewster enjoys the heart of Christmas: Christmas morning. What Brewster likes most is opening the gifts. Not only does she like receiving, but she also enjoys the reaction of those who open the gifts that she and other friends and family members have given.
Rowan Woody, a sophomore, says his favorite thing about Christmas is putting in the effort to get friends just the thing they want, and then watching their reaction when they open it. This is fun for Woody because it’s his way of expressing to his peers that he cares!
I hope this story gives you an inside look at how others feel about Christmas, and that you have fun and enjoy your holiday this season. Christmas is a holiday for loving and giving, and no matter how you celebrate yours, make sure you’re in the loving grace of your family and friends.
