Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came to theaters on May 6th, and is currently the number one movie in the world. Critics are saying that it’s the most thrilling, action packed, and exhilarating movie of the year. This is Marvel Studios’ first film of 2022 and it is a success. The Rotten Tomatoes meter rated it a 75% while the audience scored it an 87%.

Fans were excited to see what director Sam Raimi was going to do for the second Dr. Strange movie. Raimi has directed all of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, Evil Dead 2 and 4, and some other well known films. This film is definitely different from all the other MCU movies. It is darker and more brutal. Although it is far from a horror film, it is still graphic and even scary at times.

To prepare for Dr. Strange, you should watch the Disney+ show WandaVision to understand what’s going on. WandaVision will give you more context for some of the characters and their stories behind all the chaos happening in the film. If you have not watched the show, it’s not a huge deal, but you might be a bit lost when it comes to understanding certain situations the film characters talk about. It’s a good marketing ploy for Disney+ to lure more subscribers, because there are a lot of Marvel fans out there who want to watch the new Marvel shows in order to fully understand the related films.

*Spoilers Ahead*

I have talked to some people about this movie, and it seems you either love it or hate it. The movie is fast paced, but I was satisfied with it overall. It met all of my expectations and even surprised me at times. I knew the movie was about the multiverse and the characters going through multiple universes, but I did not expect to see Mr. Fantastic (also known as Reed Richards) who is played by the one and only John Krasinski. Fans have joked around and created photoshopped edits of Krasinski as Richards, but I don’t think anyone truly saw this coming. There is another Fantastic 4 movie in Marvel’s works, but since this Reed Richard was from Earth 838 and not from Earth 616, we will see if Krasinski will reprise the role.

Make sure to explore the unknown with Dr. Strange in a theater near you. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is full of mystery and will transport you into a different universe…Be prepared to expect the unexpected!
