What Do You First Notice About Someone?
February 14, 2020
The first thing you notice about someone is very important to the way you feel about that person. Whether you notice their features or their personality, what first strikes you comes to affect how you feel about them. I notice personality more than facial or other features. To me, personality is the biggest part of someone; it shows me their true colors (are they kind and sweet? rude with a bad attitude?) and let’s me decide if I really like them. I want to continue talking to someone more often if I have a positive first impression of their personality. Facial expressions are also useful for sensing whether or not I could get along with that person after a minute or two of conversation, and also to help me judge whether or not they want to talk to me.

Hmmm. Very interesting. While I could see why observing facial features and personality first has its advantages, I can’t say I do that. I tend to look at people’s clothes first: specifically if they’re wearing a jacket. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve found that I can best gauge people’s personality and compatibility with me by this method. Perhaps it’s a sixth sense… or perhaps I’m really into jackets. Haha!
